Hi there! I’m Kachina Dimmock,
your Content Marketing Specialist, Former Australian Army Reservist and the Director of Content Collective Co, and I love helping small business owners to understand how to drive growth and gain big results with cost-effective marketing.
I’m a creative problem-solver, results-driven digital marketer and storyteller, with a hankering for adventure and the great outdoors based in the Northern suburbs of the Illawarra.
I work with businesses all over Australia (and around the globe too).
When I’m not busy helping SMB owners level up their marketing, you can usually find me traipsing the hiking and MTB trails in the escarpment which surround my home, belly flopping over waves at the beach, or cosying up with a good book. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some of my *ahem* associates - Molly the German Shepherd X Labrador Chief Barketing Officer, Lola the Tabby X Ragdoll CE(me)O(w) and Toby the Domestic ShortHair Head of Napping - on our calls!
I’ve always been a storyteller for as long as I can remember. From insisting on using Dad’s camera to take all of the photos on family holidays and writing short poems about Wombats as a child, to discovering other mediums for expression as I got older.
I’ve been professionally working in the world of Content Marketing now for almost a decade. I’ve always got such a thrill from creating stories that impact and surprise my audience.
Over the years, I’ve gained experience in a variety of industries, including travel, news, food, community, lifestyle, corporate and legal. My work has been recognised in ‘Women In Travel - Rising Star Finalist’.
My Marketing Journey
2012 - 2015
Studied Bachelor of Communications and Media Studies (maj. International Communication and Media, min. French Language) at the University of Wollongong. This included a student exchange in 2014 to Montana State University, MT USA.
2015
Ventured into the world of written content creation, with a dream to make it as a travel writer. Spent time writing for a handful of publications including International Business Times and Sydney Food Lovers. Started my own travel blog, Nomaddiction Blog.
2016
Started working for a food-based tech startup, doing assistant written culinary work. Feeling hungry (pun not intended) for more, I started helping local small businesses with social media marketing. Had stories published in local magazine 2515.
2017
Started working for a Legal SaaS provider as a Content and Social Media Marketing Coordinator - my first full-time marketing role. It was a steep learning curve, but taught me really strong foundations in the world of corporate marketing.
2018
Landed my dream job as a Content and Social Media Marketing Specialist for a family of tour companies. It was my job to build up the online presence of the APAC region from the grassroots up.
Regularly contributed to local publication Coal Coast Magazine.
2019
Very quickly started seeing results from the strategies I’d been building and implementing at the travel company. Was recognised as a Finalist in the Women in Travel Awards - Rising Star.
Started taking on more Freelance work with local small businesses on the side.
Enlisted in the Australian Army Reserves.
2020
As covid very heavily and quickly affected the travel industry, I used the reduced hours to start building my own content marketing business; a fortuitous move, as my role at the travel company was later made redundant.
Launched Content Collective Co in August 2020.
2021
Continued working on building Content Collective Co and building the business to scale. Worked with several small businesses, from building content strategies, to content creation and tailored workshops.
Landed a partnership deal with The Entourage.
Started working for a remote-based business, while still building Content Collective Co.
Prepped for my first bodybuilding show (which was then cancelled - thanks covid).
2022
Took a plunge into the deep end and started pursuing Content Collective Co. at full capacity.
Launched Level Up … Your Marketing!
Competed in first bodybuilding show with WBFF.
